Job Title: Chief Marketing Strategist for Admissions Excellence
Job Summary:
Georgia State University seeks a seasoned marketing leader to fill the role of Chief Marketing Strategist for Admissions Excellence. This critically important position involves developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to engage, inform, and support students throughout their academic journey and through the admissions funnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for all marketing plans, including the planning and implementation of strategic marketing communications using GSU's CRM systems—Slate and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Associate Vice President for Admissions and Communications and the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to advance the institution's goals related to admissions and student success.
- Work closely with Public Relations and Marketing Communications to ensure consistency in messaging to prospective students across web/online, email, social media, and print formats.
- Engage and support continuing students at Georgia State University, utilizing a combination of process-driven messaging, brand perception, and collecting important information about their experience.
- Identify and engage domestic and international pools of student prospects and admitted students using the Slate CRM system to convert students through the admissions funnel.
- Provide leadership around training and implementation of marketing tools (Main Stay, Slate, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
- Supervise marketing staff and coordinating human resources activities, including creating/modifying position descriptions, performance appraisals, hiring, staff training, discipline, conflict resolution, and termination of employees.
- Manage all vendor relationships aimed at driving student recruitment and enrollment.
Essential Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to demonstrate excellent, effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in strategic communications, marketing, and enrollment management.
- Extensive experience developing comprehensive communication flows.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, specifically Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Slate.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with various constituencies.
- Firm understanding of web technologies and analytics, including social networking, social media tools, and current communication trends (including video and mobile).
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to generate and interpret analytics.
Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
