Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Disaster Assistance Program Specialist to join our team at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. As a key member of our Recovery Branch, you will play a critical role in providing federal and state disaster assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks related to grants management, public assistance, research analysis, and documentation.
  • Work in a demanding and changing environment, requiring independence and effective time management.
  • Meet regulatory and internal deadlines on all assignments.
  • May be required to travel on short notice, work in a Joint Field Office, and work overtime as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work per week.
  • Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required.
  • Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosure is required within 30 days of appointment.

Special Requirements:

  • This position is subject to the POST & BID process.
  • Priority will be given to Cal OES Post & Bid applicants.
