Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Service Technician to join our team at Good Shepherd Health Care. As an Environmental Service Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, and equipment to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, bathrooms, and other areas to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, and vacuums to maintain floors and carpets.
  • Wet-mops floors and other areas to prevent slipping and falling hazards.
  • Shampoos rugs and furniture to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Cleans vents, fan fixtures, and other high areas using a step stool or ladder.
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Buffs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors to maintain a clean and shiny appearance.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required to maintain a safe and accessible environment.
  • Clears and sets up conference room furniture as required to support meetings and events.
  • Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants.
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls in all areas of the hospital.
  • Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment, and assists with other cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Assists with emergency situations as needed to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with others.
Working Conditions

The Environmental Service Technician will work in a hospital setting and will be exposed to various cleaning chemicals and equipment. The technician will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
