Role Overview
This position requires a detail oriented individual with the skills to operate and maintain the physical facilities and grounds at the Center for Education Services and Transportation Center. The responsibility of this position requires the individual to ensure the buildings and grounds meet the standards of a quality, safe, and comfortable environment while maintaining a professional appearance.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/GED.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Minimum three (3) years' experience in the field of commercial cleaning and building maintenance.
Minimum two (2) years' of progressive experience leading and supervising people.
Knowledge of tools, equipment and techniques to perform maintenance and operations duties.
Ability to use current technologies to perform work functions including but not limited to ordering supplies, entering work orders, and receiving and sending e-mails.
Possess the attention to detail and mechanical skills required to fulfill the position requirements.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to diagnose HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building systems within the assigned location.
Two (2) years Vocational/Technical training or combination of documented training, work experience or comparable professional license.
Working knowledge of building and life safety codes.

Role Responsibilities
Maintain the physical plant of the Center for Education Services and Transportation area.
All phases of interior cleaning by using hand and mechanical tools.
Acquire and develop knowledge of the building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and procedures for performing fire drills, testing emergency lighting systems, and emergency generator systems.
Perform and direct all phases of grounds-keeping, landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal.
Conduct repairs to equipment and buildings.
Perform monthly safety checks of the entire facility and equipment.
Order supplies and maintain a proper inventory of supplies and equipment.
Maintain and operate all types of mechanical equipment.
Assist the professional staff with coordinating and set up of meetings as appropriate.
Provide custodial services to groups using Center for Education Services after hours and on non-work days.
Essential Job Functions:
Train and provide orientation in methods and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment to new custodians assigned to the Center for Education Services.
Coordinate staff assignments.
Develop and implement a program to maintain the professional appearance of the buildings and grounds.
Maintain a schedule of building inspections to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
Provide direction to staff to create a quality, safe, and comfortable environment.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building and grounds for extended periods.
Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with others as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear.
Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be able to operate powered equipment.
Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, walk stairs, climb, and shovel.
Will be subjected to loud noises, dust, fumes, and hot and cold outdoor temperatures.
