Job Title: Logistics Manager
RDF&P, INC. is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our team. As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing the functions of the Shipping Department, providing support and daily assignments to team members, and ensuring deliveries are completed to the correct location and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Shipping Department, including providing support and daily assignments to team members.
- Coordinate shipments to ensure deliveries are completed to the correct location and on time.
- Schedule trucks with vendors to pick up customer jobs for delivery as needed.
- Create Bills of Lading (BOLS) and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
- Ensure team members have the tools, materials, and training to efficiently complete tasks.
- Document activity, utilizing delivery receipts/BOMs and ensure all information regarding the delivery is recorded.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and the Project Manager to ensure any shipping/delivery costs are calculated correctly and passed to the customer.
- Be responsible for the preparation of quotes, which will involve examining products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
- Track shipment through production to ensure pick-up timing and quantity of items are accounted for.
- Proactively forecast the ability to ship earlier than originally scheduled. Coordinate with team and Operations Manager to make delivery.
- Ensure a billable job is shipped every single shipping day unless excused by the Operations Manager.
- Attend Transfer Meetings, keep notes, and send a list of transfers to team members of what to expect on the transfer headed to ET.
- Ensure BOLs are completed and turned in with every Traveler to accounting.
- Monitor completion of mileage logs and turn in regularly.
- Attend weekly production meetings, take notes, and strive to ship what is expected to ship per the meeting, communicating delays or accelerations to Operations.
- Monitor ongoing communication regarding the delivery of products and pickup of materials. Reply when needed.
- Receive incoming shipments/packages; Verify material/packages according to the order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.) i.e. check that all materials, tools, and equipment inspections are received and undamaged, and or correct materials/items were delivered, and sign paperwork upon receipt.
- Confirmation of certificate of conformances and reconciliation of receiving/purchase documentation.
- Assist in unloading materials from incoming trucks.
- Label incoming deliveries to allocate to the correct departments.
- Responsible for returning unsatisfactory material/items, receiving replacements, and coordinating returns.
- Ensure invoices of satisfactory deliveries are signed and paid for.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
- Organize inventory racks, cycle counting, and report it weekly.
- Physically count raw material and tag controls.
- Receive warehouse copy of work orders to pre-pull materials list and review for coordination with warehouse operations.
- Performs general housekeeping and organization of the storage area.
- General knowledge of standard safety practices and procedures relating to warehouse operations and equipment.
Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Extraordinary at negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Prior work experience in a logistic environment required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Exceptional administrative experience, such as telephone skills, data entry, multitasking, and written skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Suite.
- Strategic planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking are a must.
- Must obtain a clean, valid Oregon Driver's license (non-CDL).
- Ability to drive a manual transmission required.
- Excellent customer service skills are a must.
- Dependability is essential.
- Proficient interpersonal and communication skills; written & spoken in English are mandatory.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment and during stressful situations is vital.
- Have a good understanding of the Portland Metro area.
- Capable of quickly learning routes, equipment, and customer locations.
- Forklift experience.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a shop environment, loud noises and work are being performed nearby – appropriate attire and PPE are required. Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Physical Demands:
- The employee may occasionally regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
- The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, or crouch.
- Occasionally required to reach above shoulder height.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Hours are Monday – Friday, 6 AM – 2:30 PM, with overtime and working weekends as required.
