Position Summary:

This position is in the Business Segment of the Customer Relations Withholding Tax Department. As a Senior Tax Compliance Specialist, you will educate customers in person or by phone of applicable laws, policies, procedures, services, and resources. You will provide customers with information regarding the status of records, tax returns, or other transactions. You will also provide guidance on options to correct deficiencies, problems, or errors. Your responsibilities will include account management on accounts involving business entities of sole proprietor and business, which include associations, joint ventures, estates, and trusts. You will conduct the processing of business applications, returns, remittances, and refunds. You will perform account adjustments, abatements, and/or assessments. This position requires a professional attire and a customer service orientation. You will provide customer education in a professional manner when assisting a customer face-to-face or making a public presentation. You will ensure that customers' needs are met in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer education and guidance on tax laws, policies, and procedures
  • Manage accounts involving business entities, including sole proprietor and business
  • Process business applications, returns, remittances, and refunds
  • Perform account adjustments, abatements, and/or assessments
  • Provide customer service in a professional manner

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in interviewing, investigating, or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public
  • One year experience or education in auditing or accounting support work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years' experience or education in auditing or accounting support work

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

  • KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems
