Position Overview:
The Field Quality Improvement Engineer will play a crucial role within Zero Motorcycles' Quality Engineering team.
This role serves as a vital link between our customers, dealers, and the broader organizational structure.
This analytical problem-solver will focus on key performance indicators related to field quality, identifying trends through the analysis of technical data, leading initiatives to resolve issues, and ensuring prompt implementation of solutions.
A successful candidate will approach challenges with urgency and possess a strong understanding of widely accepted Quality methodologies and tools.
They should be capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse teams and preparing comprehensive reports for senior management.
Through their commitment to continuous improvement, the Field Quality Improvement Engineer will significantly contribute to meeting and surpassing customer expectations.
This is a full-time position, operating Monday through Friday.Key Duties:
Identify opportunities for enhancing field quality and spearhead their execution.
Examine critical field quality metrics, such as repair rates and cost per unit, to gain insights into primary customer concerns.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Quality and Engineering to elevate overall field quality.Utilize fundamental Quality tools and methodologies to ascertain root causes, implement corrective measures, and validate the effectiveness of solutions.
Expand knowledge of Zero Motorcycles products by reviewing vehicle specifications, DFMEAs/PFMEAs, and other relevant documentation.
Conduct failure analyses to facilitate root cause investigations, issue resolution, and ongoing improvements.
Lead regular quality assessments that concentrate on field trends, quality challenges, and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data to uncover trends and irregularities.
Experience in a Quality-focused role within a manufacturing setting (automotive experience is advantageous). Proficient knowledge of Quality problem-solving tools (Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, Scatter Diagrams, The 5 Whys, Pareto Charts), with a proven track record of effective application.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Solid understanding of Quality Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP). Familiarity with GD&T is a plus.
Experience with Salesforce and Jira is beneficial.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods to perform job functions and interact with other staff and management as necessary.
