Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for healthcare visits by accompanying them to exam rooms, providing exam gowns, and arranging necessary equipment.
  • Assist providers in treating patients by obtaining medical histories, vitals, and preparing injections, as well as setting up sterile fields and performing dressing changes.
  • Cast applications and deliver medical equipment as needed, while maintaining accurate patient records for medical coding purposes.
  • Triage patient calls and physician messages, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Maintain exam rooms with adequate medical supplies and adhere to sterilization protocols.
  • Prepare patient charts before arrival and schedule follow-up appointments, initial therapy visits, and MRI appointments as necessary.
  • Comply with HIPAA and OSHA regulations, upholding the highest standards of patient confidentiality and safety.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Formal training as a medical assistant or certification as a medical assistant (preferred).
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

This position requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, with some bending, stooping, and stretching, as well as periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.

The employee is regularly required to converse and hear, with normal (corrected) vision and coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, with shifts assigned in advance but subject to change based on company schedule.

The hours will typically range from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm and may be subject to change based on access requirements at locations.
