Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

The Portland Clinic is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide administrative and support services to our Registered Nurses and Providers while ensuring exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Room patients, taking vital signs and completing standard rooming tasks as outlined in our TPC rooming workflow.
  • Perform task-based office work, including faxing, completing FMLA paperwork, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling records.
  • Discharge patients after necessary teaching has been completed by the LIP or RN team.
  • Print AVS reports.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms.
  • Collect urine specimens and COVID specimens as directed by the RN or LIP.
  • Perform bladder scans and EKGs as delegated by the RN or LIP, after training and competency verification.
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field after training and competency verification.
  • Sort and prioritize Epic In basket tasks.
  • Perform duties delegated by the RN, not exceeding those allowed by the OSBN.
  • Maintain regular work attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines at all times to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Participate as an active care team member in a patient-centered medical home.
Requirements:
  • Current CNA certification in the state of Oregon.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • Basic understanding of Medical Terminology.
  • Basic understanding of infection control.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency of documentation in the EHR.

  • Capable of effectively working on multiple tasks without a reduction in quality of work and service performed.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and work under pressure.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and use initiative to proceed with necessary tasks without direct supervision.
