We are seeking a highly skilled Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems Engineer to join our team at Arup. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing plumbing and fire protection systems for complex buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems for buildings, with a focus on sustainable design and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings.
  • Undertake and document engineering analysis work, including code research, load calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Document system design in Revit MEP and communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences.
  • Write reports documenting calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical information.
  • Assist in construction administration activities, such as site visits and submittal reviews.
  • Participate in local professional associations and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Four or more years of professional work experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with 3D BIM software, such as Revit MEP.
  • Strong interest in sustainable development and the built environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FE desired, with a PE license ideal.
  • Membership in ASPE, ASSE, ASHRAE, NFPA, or SFPE.
  • Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation.
  • Ability to perform in a paid work environment with intermittent supervision.
  • Past history of technical presentations and technical writing.
  • Computer programming languages, such as Dynamo, Python, or Grasshopper.
