Senior iOS Software Engineer

A prominent leader in aerospace innovation is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer, iOS, to become part of their mission-focused team. This organization is developing the future of human habitation in space with artificial gravity stations intended for extended missions in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Their revolutionary space station is designed to transform the experience of living in space.

The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer, iOS, you will spearhead the creation of iOS applications for crew interfaces on the company’s space station. You will oversee the complete Software Development Lifecycle, working closely with UX design, flight software, and avionics teams to guarantee dependable performance in a space environment. This is your opportunity to develop software that will function in orbit.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and enhance iOS software codebases that will be utilized on crew devices aboard the spacecraft.
  • Guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and teamwork.
  • Manage the entire software lifecycle, from initial development through deployment, configuration management, and user support.
  • Set up and improve automated testing and deployment systems to ensure the highest standards of software quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure software meets critical mission requirements and user expectations.

What You Will Bring:

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing iOS applications with a wide user base.
  • Proficiency in command line operations, shell scripting, and a comprehensive understanding of the GNU/Linux operating system.
  • Experience in integrating C and C++ code within iOS applications.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based application development.

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • A strong interest in user-centric roles and resolving complex challenges with a proactive approach.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, especially during critical mission phases.

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Centered Design & Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: Over 7 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 4 years dedicated to iOS applications using Objective-C/C++ & Swift.
