Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Mercedes Diaz Homes Inc. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living tasks, hygiene, and social needs.
  • Assist individuals with their personal goals and objectives, and help them develop skills and abilities to live independently.
  • Participate in training and team meetings to build knowledge, skills, and abilities to grow in the family.
  • Take ownership of your own behaviors and help coach others in demonstrating the company's C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, and empowerment).
Requirements
  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years old.
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or forensic involvement.
  • A current driver's license and California automobile insurance coverage for driving your personal vehicle to and from various community locations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
