Engineering at Brex
The Engineering division encompasses Data, IT, Security, and Software, tasked with developing cutting-edge products and infrastructure for both internal and external stakeholders. Our teams operate autonomously yet collaboratively, eager to learn, teach, and continuously enhance our processes. Together, we aim to construct robust and scalable systems that facilitate Brex's rapid growth and empower our clients to achieve their maximum potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop resilient platforms and tools to expedite product development at Brex.
- Take ownership of and maintain essential API infrastructure that handles hundreds of requests per second.
- Identify and implement enhancements for reliability and performance within our backend architecture.
- Maintain high engineering standards and ensure consistency across codebases, infrastructure, and processes.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Experience with GraphQL, particularly with Federated GraphQL.
- Background in Kotlin (Java and Scala are also acceptable).
- Experience in platform or full-stack development.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Willingness to work in the office two days a week.
- Experience with Bazel is a plus, especially if you have written rules or maintained Bazel as a platform. Extensive experience with other multi-language build systems is also advantageous.
- Familiarity with Golang, particularly in building command-line interfaces.
- Experience in extending integrated development environments (IDEs).
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $192,000 - $240,000. However, the initial base salary will be determined by various factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demand, and internal pay equity. Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may be included as part of the overall compensation package.
