Job Summary:

As an Environmental Consultant at Barr Engineering Company, you will play a critical role in providing air permitting and compliance support to our clients in the fuels, mining, manufacturing, and power sectors. This challenging and fast-paced position requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to combine technical expertise with regulatory knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop solutions to help clients maintain optimal flexibility and profitability while complying with air-related regulations.
  • Read and interpret regulations, calculate emissions, and write technical analysis memos.
  • Prepare routine compliance submittals, develop compliance tools, and compile permit applications.
  • Provide on-site client support and travel to various locations as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in industry, an environmental agency, or environmental consulting.
  • Experience working with regulations and environmental permitting.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of professional experience in industry, an environmental agency, or environmental consulting.
  • High level of proficiency working in data systems and analyzing large sets of data.
  • Project or task management skills and ability to build working relationships across teams.
