Job Title: Activities Coordinator
Location: Limerick, PA
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join our team at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe. As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities that promote the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and conducting programs that provide opportunities for residents to engage in physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual activities.
- Encourage residents to participate in activities and help plan programs for holidays and special events.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for activities and special events.
- Plan and facilitate mixed group activities that promote socialization and engagement among residents.
- Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner and assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies.
- Oversee daily care of animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
- Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events and distributing the calendar to residents.
- Meet with new residents to introduce the program and assist Director in leadership of wellness program.
- Help manage a volunteer staff and address resident groups on subjects of common interest.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years' experience preferred in assisted living, long term care or experience/exposure to the senior population.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, speaking the primary language of the residents.
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows, including Word and Excel, and software to design calendars and signs.
- Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population and interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
