Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Factors Engineer to join our team at Apex Systems. As a Human Factors Engineer, you will play a critical role in investigating and analyzing characteristics of human behavior and performance as it relates to the use of technology and weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Human Factors Assessments (HFAs) to research and evaluate Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) to ensure compliance with specified sections of Military Standards.
  • Assist in design documentation, interface specification, and requirements development to ensure evolving designs address program needs and adhere to Human Interface design requirements.
  • Participate in the use of advanced engineering modeling and simulation tools, instrumentation, and measurement and design of experiments.
  • Support performance analysis, artifact development, and compliance summaries.
  • Collaborate with Design Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure evolving designs are user-centered and ultimately compatible with expected military end-users.
  • Generate and iteratively refine journey maps, user flows, task analyses, and other research artifacts to capture intended user-system interactions at both the macro and micro levels.
  • These artifacts will be used to generate targeted UI/UX designs and inform the product team.
Requirements
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Strong understanding of Human Factors Engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with advanced engineering modeling and simulation tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
