Job Summary

Cynet Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures in an operating room setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical procedures, utilizing physician's preference cards to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in draping the patient and preparing the operative field, maintaining a sterile environment at all times.
  • Preserve and ensure correct identification of operative specimens for lab analysis, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Obtain and ensure proper functioning of special equipment, such as electrosurgical machines, to ensure patient safety.
  • Manipulate instruments to enhance efficiency and ensure patient safety, recognizing and correcting breaks in sterile technique.
  • Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts as directed by the circulating nurse, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Clean or sterilize contaminated instruments, equipment, and supplies, and clean operating areas, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Assist in training surgical technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a high level of performance.
  • Perform various clerical and direct patient care activities in Labor and Delivery, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • English proficiency (Speak, Read, Write).
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy and first aid methods.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Understanding of patient care appropriate to age groups served (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
