Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Cynet Health in Oklahoma City. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance as a surgical (scrub) technician in an operating room or other surgical facility.
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures using physician's preference cards.
  • Maintain a sterile field by opening instruments and supplies using sterile techniques.
  • Assist the physician in draping the patient and preparing the operative field.
  • Preserve and ensure correct identification of operative specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Ensure special equipment is in working order, such as electrosurgical machines and diagnostic lights.
  • Manipulate instruments to aid surgical efficiency and patient safety.
  • Observe surgery progress and provide additional instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Recognize and correct breaks in sterile technique.
  • Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts as directed by the circulating nurse.
  • Clean and sterilize contaminated instruments and supplies; clean operating room areas; dispose of soiled linen.
  • Assist in training surgical technicians.
  • Conduct clerical and technical direct patient care activities if assigned to labor and delivery.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school/program for Surgical Technicians OR 6 months of scrub tech experience may substitute for the completion of training.
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy and first aid methods.
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with others.
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care for patients.
Skills
  • Recognize and provide care required for different patient age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
  • Understand principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Interpret patient data to identify age-specific requirements.
Work Schedule
  • Midshift 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., 3x12 Hr.
  • 36 hours per week.
