Healthcare Training Manager

This role involves coordinating and delivering educational activities that promote the competency and development of nursing staff, including orientation, competency validation, in-service, and continuing education.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of adult teaching/learning theories and program assessment, design, promotion, and marketing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing educational programs in response to health care demands, trends, identified learning needs, department goals, quality improvement measures, risk management, regulatory changes, and compliance criteria.
- Designing educational offerings (courses, simulations, programs) using processes and methodologies that incorporate the principles of adult education and learning styles.
- Maintaining educational and competency records in compliance with hospital, Department of Healthcare Services (DHS), Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), The Joint Commission (TJC), and the Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) standards.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Operating Room environment.
- Broad knowledge of clinical nursing, including current trends, safety precaution policies, equipment, electronic healthcare records (EHR) management software, accrediting agency standards, and local/state/federal regulations.
- An intermediate knowledge of word processing, presentation, and email software, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
- A working understanding of Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Captivate, HealthStream and Epic, and an aptitude for learning new programs.
