Licensed Orthotic and Prosthetic Specialist

Össur is looking for a dedicated Licensed Orthotic and Prosthetic Specialist to join our esteemed team. This position offers a remarkable chance to enhance your professional journey within our state-of-the-art facility. Our clinic prides itself on delivering exceptional patient care through a collaborative approach. In this role, you will partner with fellow experts to design and fabricate high-quality prosthetic and orthotic solutions. A structured training program will guide you through various competencies, addressing a range of amputation levels and responsibilities. Our facility includes a fully equipped fabrication lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments
- Maintaining detailed records in OPIE
- Executing hand casting/scanning for all amputation levels and custom devices
- Implementing modifications, performing diagnostic fittings, and overseeing the delivery and follow-up of post-operative devices
- Providing assistance to hospital staff orthotists as required
- Engaging in marketing initiatives, which may involve visiting referral sources, hospitals, clinics, and conducting presentations for physicians
- Collaborating with physicians and therapists to address patient needs and develop treatment plans
- Educating patients and their families
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned
- Certification as a Prosthetist/Orthotist, Certified Prosthetist, or Certified Orthotist (or board eligible) from the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics & Orthotics
- Master's Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics from an accredited institution
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred, though not mandatory
