Position Overview

Role Purpose:
The Hospitalist Staff Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a vital role in the care delivery team, setting standards for care quality. This position entails responsibility, authority, and accountability for patient care, in collaboration with supervising physicians. The APP will manage patient care activities, employing independent judgment and teamwork to ensure effective healthcare delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care.
  • Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs.
  • Adherence to departmental policies and procedures in patient care.

  • Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to patient care.
  • Good clinical judgment and mobility for patient interaction.

Licensure and Education:

For PA:

  • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Preferred BS or MS degree.
  • Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
  • Current state PA license and NCCPA certification required.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Act 34 Clearance required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is necessary.

For CRNP: ACNP

  • Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program is required.
  • Preferred BSN or MSN degree.
  • Professional nursing experience is preferred.
  • Current state RN license and CRNP certification required.
  • National certification and eligibility for licensure by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Act 34 Clearance required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is necessary.
