Role Purpose:
The Hospitalist Staff Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in the care delivery team. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of care and has the authority and accountability for patient care, working under the supervision of a physician. The APP will manage patient care activities, employing independent judgment and fostering collaboration among all team members. This role also involves initial leadership responsibilities and a commitment to community health.

Qualifications:

  • Possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to patients.
  • Understand the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures for patient care.

Essential Skills:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including executives, healthcare providers, and patients.
  • Work effectively in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Manage multiple priorities and utilize specialized equipment.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in patient care.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

For PA:

  • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Preferred BS or MS degree.
  • Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
  • Current state PA license and NCCPA certification are mandatory.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Act 34 Clearance is necessary.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.

For CRNP: ACNP

  • Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program is essential.
  • Preferred BSN or MSN degree.
  • Professional nursing experience is beneficial.
  • Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
  • Eligibility for national certification and state licensure is necessary.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Act 34 Clearance is necessary.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
