Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned and driven Lead Power Electronics Engineer to become a vital member of our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and performance of our products through comprehensive testing and validation processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee board-level and product-level testing of integrated hardware and firmware during the product development phase.
  • Manage verification processes, including requirement tracing, test protocol creation, test execution, and documentation of reports for high-voltage high-power converters and low voltage racker controller products.
  • Construct prototype components and assemblies, optimizing them to meet system specifications.
  • Conduct validation, qualification, and selection processes for semiconductors and magnetics, among other components within hardware designs.
  • Develop test algorithms, automated scripts, data acquisition systems, and test fixtures to support both prototype and production testing, focusing on repeatability and reproducibility for PCA verification.
  • Refine prototyping and release strategies to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality during the development phase.
  • Create and implement test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers to identify testing requirements, define strategies, and troubleshoot design challenges.
  • Perform electrical, thermal, and mechanical testing on power electronic components and systems, analyzing data and providing actionable insights.
  • Lead investigations into test failures to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external testing laboratories to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering with a proven track record in Power Electronics Labs focused on building or testing power electronics.
  • Over 10 years of experience in power electronics design, development, and manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage power systems, including DC/DC (isolated and non-isolated) and DC/AC topologies utilized in high-power converters.
  • Expertise in testing methodologies for power electronic components and systems, encompassing electrical characterization, thermal analysis, and reliability testing.
  • Experience in identifying corner cases for testing, setting up tests, executing them, and analyzing results for power electronics projects.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal chambers, and data acquisition systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations for power electronics testing, including IEC, IEEE, and UL standards.
  • Proficient in Python with extensive experience in developing test scripts and automating tests with various instruments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, capable of analyzing complex data and identifying potential issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in guiding projects and mentoring junior engineers.
