Position Title: Power Electronics Engineer Intern

Role Summary: As a Power Electronics Engineer Intern, you will engage in the design, execution, and enhancement of systems tailored for our renewable energy initiatives. This internship presents a distinctive chance to tackle complex engineering challenges, contribute to innovative projects, and have a significant influence in the renewable energy sector.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and evaluation of cutting-edge control systems, power conversion mechanisms, and communication frameworks that empower solar energy facilities to efficiently supply clean energy to the grid at a utility scale.
  • Execute simulations and performance assessments to confirm system designs and pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to investigate advanced topics relevant to the renewable energy landscape.
  • Devise novel and creative solutions for utility-scale solar facilities and grid-connected power conversion systems.
  • Establish proof-of-concept experimental or simulation setups to validate proposed methodologies through detailed case studies.
  • Remain updated on industry trends and advancements in power electronics and control systems.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at an accredited institution in the United States. Outstanding master's students in their final year with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong grasp of power electronics concepts, including converter configurations, modulation strategies, and semiconductor technologies.
  • Proficient in control theory with experience in implementing control algorithms for real-time applications.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation tools and software development for embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with PCBA design is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Ansys/Maxwell/Icepack is a plus.
