Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to join our dynamic finance team. The Finance Coordinator will play a critical role in managing and tracking the financial performance of engineering projects, ensuring accuracy in billing, reporting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Financial Management:
    • Manage the financial aspects of engineering projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
    • Monitor project financial performance, identifying variances and providing regular financial reports to project managers and senior management.
    • Ensure accurate and timely billing of clients in accordance with contract terms, including time and materials, fixed fee, and percentage of completion contracts.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Review and interpret project contracts to ensure compliance with financial and contractual obligations.
    • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates in collaboration with project managers.
    • Maintain detailed records of contract amendments, change orders, and other financial documentation.
  • Revenue Recognition & Reporting:
    • Perform revenue recognition calculations in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
    • Prepare monthly project financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow projections, and work-in-progress reports.
    • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Cost Control & Analysis:
    • Monitor project expenditures to ensure they are within budget and aligned with project objectives.
    • Analyze project costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to project managers to optimize project performance.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Serve as the primary financial point of contact for clients, addressing billing inquiries and resolving financial issues.
    • Work closely with project managers and clients to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payment collection.
  • Compliance & Audit:
    • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
    • Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project cost management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek, SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working within the AEC industry.
