Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $25-$27 per hour, offering a competitive compensation package for skilled professionals.

Job Description

This Retail Operations Manager role is responsible for training and developing employees to ensure seamless store operations. Key responsibilities include:

Customer Service
  1. Provide a positive representation of Westlake Hardware, fostering a welcoming environment for customers.
  2. Greet customers entering and throughout the store, thanking them when finished and upon departure.
  3. Proactively assist customers in solving problems, ensuring their needs are met.
  4. Maintain excellent product knowledge and store layout awareness.
  5. Handle customer complaints effectively, working towards resolutions that benefit both parties.
Store Operations
  1. Assist in supervising general store operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  2. Manage inventory levels, balancing product availability with store profitability.
  3. Receive, check-in, and stock merchandise in a timely manner.
  4. Maintain optimal back stock levels to prevent stockouts.
  5. Verify forklift operations and receiving are conducted safely and efficiently.
  6. Confirm weekly price changes and monthly cycle counts.
  7. Ensure accurate signage throughout the store.
  8. Prepare products and ad signage for customer display.
  9. Validate special orders and rain-checks.
  10. Develop and implement inventory shrinkage prevention strategies, monitoring numbers and taking corrective action as needed.
  11. Perform routine maintenance tasks to maximize physical assets' lifespan.
  12. Contribute to overall store cleanliness, organization, and appearance.
Leadership
  1. Exercise leadership in the absence of the General Manager, overseeing all aspects of store operations.
  2. Create a safe, professional work environment that promotes associate well-being.
  3. Become an integral part of the community through civic engagement and community involvement.
  4. Challenge associates to improve merchandise presentation, expense control, and sales growth.
  5. Lead by example, being approachable and accessible to all associates and customers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of retail management experience, preferably in the hardware industry.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 pounds), and climb.
  • Will travel as required; relocation preferred but not necessary.
