Job Summary

This role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with consumer media and placing information about Spectrum in news mediums. The ideal candidate will identify and take action to positively promote Spectrum's products and services to improve consumer perception.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Research and write announcements, articles, and other materials geared to customers and the community.
  • Manage strategic communications projects to build and maintain Spectrum's positive reputation among key audiences.
  • Build and establish strong working relationships with key local news media contacts.
  • Inject a 'storytelling perspective' into Spectrum's communications strategy.
  • Manage field leadership communications and counsel executives on relevant subjects.
  • Assist in formulating local and regional marketing communications, crisis communications, and issues management.
  • Research communication possibilities for diverse media.
  • Produce multiple materials and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
  • In-depth writing and media relations skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of television, Internet, and phone products and services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • News media or PR agency media relations experience.
  • Management or leadership experience.
