Job Title: Assistant General Manager Aquatics

As a key member of the Gilbride Management Group (GMG) team, the Assistant General Manager Aquatics will oversee the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School. This role encompasses all daily operations, including safety, staffing, pool operations, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and department managers to fulfill daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Oversee employee engagement to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction and company culture.
  • Develop and implement training programs to provide superior swim instruction in accordance with GSS standards.
  • Interact with wet side staff on operational items, including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot proper pool chemistry and pump room operation.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations to ensure a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of teachers and trainees.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
  • Assist with purchasing and retail operations.
  • Train and oversee private party staff.
  • Manage social media, book water safety presentations, and build partnerships with local businesses.
  • Monitor email, voice messages, and social media for timely and appropriate responses.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications required.
Work Environment:

The Assistant General Manager Aquatics will work in a fast-paced environment with regular exposure to heat and humidity. Moderate noise levels are expected.

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
