About the Role

Ryder is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team as a Mobile Light and Medium Duty Mechanic. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections for our non-contractual customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnosis, repairs, and preventative maintenance for non-contractual customers
  • Assist higher-grade maintenance specialists with complex repairs and diagnose issues
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, and fluid checks
  • Assist with engine repairs, including alternators, starters, radiators, and injectors
  • Perform basic diagnostics and hydraulic brake inspections, repairs, and replacements
  • Operate out of a mobile maintenance vehicle and travel to customer yards within assigned regions
  • Represent Ryder and establish relationships with customers
  • Ensure proper documentation of work orders, customer repair authorizations, and repair notes
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or professional diploma preferred
  • Two years or more in combination of classroom training and work experience
  • Non-Commercial Driver License CLASS E, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • State driver's license, as required
  • Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employer's for the past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder road test, pass a Ryder background check and motor vehicle check including Drug and Alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
