Job Overview

Position Title: Plate Mounting Specialist

As a Plate Mounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the ordering, inspection, and maintenance of plate inventory. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the delivery of high-quality plates to the mounting department while maintaining an accurate inventory of print sleeves and bridge carriers. You will be tasked with verifying that mounting and plate technologies are effective in producing quality mounts for the press.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Pre-Production meetings and scheduling.
  • Read and interpret specifications from job envelopes.
  • Clean and prepare plates and sleeves for mounting.
  • Mount backing and sleeves according to provided instructions.
  • Wrap and label finished products for press or storage.
  • Inspect cylinders and gears for any defects and report findings.
  • Demount cylinders as required and maintain a clean work area.

Compensation: The base pay for this position is $21.36, with an additional $1 shift differential.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in mounting techniques.
  • Experience in industrial printing.
  • Strong inspection skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to accurately use a tape measure.

Job Type: This is a Contract-to-Hire position.

Work Environment: The position requires working night shifts and involves exposure to strong odors from inks and solvents. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects, with the potential for overtime work.
