RF Engineer Job Description

At ADEX, we are seeking a highly skilled RF Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radio network design, implementation, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement radio networks for customer premises.
  • Lead technical activities for large-scale projects, including technical organization and oversight of work.
  • Work with different services, including 5G NR, Massive MIMO, mmWave, LAA, 4G LTE, IOT, CBRS, and multi-vendor.
  • Analyze layer 3 messages for 4G and 5G.
  • Perform event analysis and address accessibility, retainability, and HO success rate issues.
  • Use planning tools such as Planet EV and Atoll.
  • Understand link budget and create new projects in planning tools.
  • Make recommendations to improve network design and cell plan.
  • Perform model tuning and identify add-on sales opportunities.
  • Use optimization tools such as TEMS investigation, Actix, Agilent, and R&S.
  • Tune loaded networks and understand artificial and real traffic loading.
  • Collect and analyze drive data and performance statistics.
  • Suggest improvements to tools and understand IRAT procedures.
  • Implement and experiment on RAN features relative to traffic analysis.
  • Optimize Handovers and Network Capacity.
  • Operate optimization tools and understand KPIs.
  • Enhance uplink tuning and understand LTE/5G optimization.

Requirements:
  • Minimum ten (10) years' experience with BSEE/BSCS or applicable experience.
  • Leadership experience for five+ projects.
  • Experience in working with different services.
  • Understanding of layer 3 messages.
  • Able to perform event analysis.
  • Extensive experience in planning tools.
  • Detailed understanding of link budget.
  • Detailed understanding of optimization tools.
  • Experience in tuning loaded networks.
  • Detailed understanding of layer 3 messaging.
  • Able to collect and analyze drive data.
  • Knowledge on how IRAT procedures can affect network quality.
  • Suggests improvements to tools.
  • Understand the impact of adding additional carrier(s) on the network.
  • Has the competence to implement and experiment on RAN features.
  • Understands the relationship between Handovers and Network Capacity.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Ericsson ENM.
  • Detailed knowledge of KPIs.
  • Understand how enhance uplink tuning is performed.
  • Detailed understanding and experience in LTE/5G optimization.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Flexibility of extensive travel within the US.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate with high degree of independence.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with various Ericsson departments.
  • Ability to identify and interpret customer requirements.
