Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist hospital and medical staff in the performance of invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Monitor patient hemodynamic status and ECG, collect and enter patient information, and generate reports at procedure completion.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including pre-procedure interviews, medical history reviews, and informed consent.
- Prepare and position patients, connect monitoring devices, and document patient medical records.
- Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices and perform sheath removal and hemostasis.
- Act as a resource for staff members in the use and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Collect data for the ACC-NCDR and Connecticut Registry databases for cardiac catheterizations.
- Participate in other duties as needed, including inventory management, cath lab quality improvement, and transporting patients.
- Be responsible for on-call duties for emergency procedures, including diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Achieve organization-established expectations with regard to quality, service, teamwork, self-development, and community service.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic computer skills
- Competent in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings
- Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred
