Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Accounting Officer, your duties will include:

Overseeing all accounting functions of the organization, including billing, financial reporting, general ledger management, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition.


  • Collaborating with external auditors to resolve audit issues and ensure compliance, while preparing annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and required supplementary schedules.
  • Ensuring adherence to all SEC reporting requirements, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings and proxy statements.
  • Establishing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
  • Leading the financial planning and budgeting processes of the company.
  • Developing and managing financial controls aligned with company policies.
  • Communicating financial metrics to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing the company’s transaction processing systems.

Qualifications:
To qualify for the Chief Accounting Officer role, candidates should possess:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; an MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting is highly preferred.

  • An active CPA certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Prior experience in public accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with external auditors and managing SEC reporting.
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with public company transformation (IPO).
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
