Job Overview

The Depot is seeking experienced Line Cooks and Prep Cooks to join our Culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality and rotating stock
  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  • Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Season and cook food according to recipes and experience
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, with high quality standards and in a timely fashion
  • Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
  • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chefs instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a restaurant cook in a high volume environment required
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
