Position Overview:

At Nightwing, we are committed to our mission of enhancing security and innovation in defense technology. We are seeking a qualified individual to join our elite engineering team as a Senior Systems Engineer. This role involves thorough investigation of system events, preparation, and presentation of findings. The selected candidate will gain expertise in subsystem procedures for recurring issues and provide support during exceptional circumstances, thereby becoming a vital technical resource.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine monitoring and documentation of system performance.
  • Foster collaborative relationships through direct engagement with clients, colleagues, and partner contractors.
  • Implement subsystem-related processes effectively.
  • Maintain an up-to-date awareness of the operational status of subsystem hardware and associated monitoring scripts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active U.S. TS/SCI with CI poly security clearance is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly SQL, TCL/TK, and/or PERL.
  • Strong understanding of electronic systems, electro-mechanical systems, RF, and digital communications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, on technical subjects.
  • Ability to evaluate engineering trade-offs effectively.
  • Skilled in utilizing analytical methods and tools for troubleshooting various events.
  • Capacity to grasp a wide range of technical theories and concepts.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to work full-time at our customer on-site facility.
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is typically required.

  • Ability to learn rapidly and manage multiple tasks in a complex environment.
  • Capability to work independently while maximizing learning opportunities.
  • Experience in a dynamic work setting under general supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of the work area, often gained through higher education and experience, with practical knowledge of project management.
