Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Tech II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist anesthesia providers with equipment preparation and maintenance, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of anesthesia care.
  • Participate in creating a high-performance culture based on joint decision-making and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide support and assistance to patients and healthcare staff to promote population-based care, continuity of care, customer satisfaction, and self-care.
  • Assume timely duties in assisting anesthesia providers, including setup and operation of rapid infusers, anesthesia machines, and other equipment.
  • Perform daily quality checks on anesthesia machines and related equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer recommendations and department policies.
  • Assist with regional blocks and lines as requested, and perform other specific tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay up-to-date with new information and technologies in the field of anesthesia technology.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology with an AS degree or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations and respond rapidly to requests.
  • Knowledge of hospital and clinic settings with OR knowledge preferred.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two to three years of anesthesia tech experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Basic hygiene concepts.
  • Good body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
  • Independent worker able to prioritize activities and work quickly, self-motivated.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sterile technique.
  • Good listening skills.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with variable working days, including weekends and holidays. The successful candidate will be required to cover call and work weekend shifts.
