Job Summary:

As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in performing neurodiagnostic testing, including EEG, EP, MEG, TMS, epilepsy monitoring, and electrocorticography. You will assist in nerve conduction testing and complete all necessary documentation for departmental records and patient procedures. Additionally, you will participate in education and training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs standard and complex EEG recordings according to established lab protocol and guidelines set forth by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. (70% of time)

2. Completes patient charge forms to ensure accurate and timely billing of procedures and completes all necessary written documentation to ensure smooth operation of the department. (10% of time)

3. Supports all functions, goals, and objectives of the department, including the development of new programs that involve the Neurophysiology Lab and Epilepsy Unit. (5% of time)

4. Practices safety and infection control policies, including universal precautions and disinfecting and cleaning equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and department policy. (5% of time)

5. Provides service excellence to customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high-quality care in a courteous and respectful manner. (3% of time)

6. Incorporates quality assessment into daily work, including assisting in the daily collection of data for the department's Performance Improvement Program. (2% of time)

7. Provides age-appropriate care to patients, including demonstrating knowledge and skills of normal growth and development necessary to provide services to the age of the patient served by the department. (2% of time)

8. Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury, including initiating and evaluating alternatives to restraint prior to application. (1% of time)

Requirements:

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
