Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support and lead quality processes at a manufacturing facility. This role will focus on managing and improving quality assurance activities, including First Article Inspection (FAI), Nondestructive Testing (NDT), and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, casting processes, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Review purchase orders, blueprint notes, and specifications to ensure all special requirements are integrated into manufacturing and inspection plans.
- Provide MRB and FAI support to reduce supplier workload and improve delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with materials testing, NDT, and casting layout teams to coordinate all test results and necessary documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Manage and execute change processes, ensuring all revisions conform to blueprint and purchase order specifications.
- Conduct system and job audits across all departments, ensuring compliance and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Prioritize high-risk areas like weld repair, surface blending, and pre-finishing, developing controls and guiding personnel as needed.
- Support the MRB process by tracking non-conformances and implementing corrective actions to improve quality performance.
- Assist with any other quality-related tasks as directed by management.
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, with a focus on castings.
- Engineering degree desired but not required with relevant experience.
- Extensive experience with FAI and MRB processes, ideally in customer-specific eCAV and eNMS systems.
- Ability to lift heavy castings (up to 33 lbs.) and work in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to improve and optimize processes.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $58.00 per hour. Benefits offered include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; 401(k); holidays and paid leave as required by law.
