In the role of Eligibility Assessment Specialist III, you will manage a portfolio of Child Care Assistance (CCA) clients to promote successful employment results. Your duties will encompass client onboarding, eligibility assessment, and the placement of qualifying children in suitable childcare environments. Additional tasks include eligibility renewals, childcare transitions, update requests, and service terminations. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate eligibility, maintain, and finalize all eligibility documentation for case files, including screening, family needs assessment, cost-sharing evaluation, and processing enrollment forms.
  • Comply with state and local regulations, accurately determining eligibility based on confidential financial records.
  • Engage with clients to collect necessary information, clarify outcomes, and explain their rights and responsibilities.
  • Effectively communicate and terminate services when necessary.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and maintain a positive attitude for success in this role.
  • Process eligibility applications, terminations, and transfer paperwork.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of the customer database within the eligibility determination timeframe set by funding sources.
  • Manage a high volume of case files and data entry daily.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Investigate complex customer inquiries by asking both open-ended and close-ended questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
  • Educate clients and provide solutions, interpreting and communicating state and local policies clearly.
  • Assist new clients entering the program and suggest alternatives for those not eligible for services.
  • Support and answer questions from Eligibility Specialists regarding work item requests and eligibility policies.
  • Act as the first point of contact for escalated inquiries, demonstrating the ability to de-escalate and resolve customer issues.
  • Answer calls from families in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Maintain daily contact with community clients, local funders, and federal and state funding agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, with experience in Child Development being a plus.
  • Certification as a Workforce Professional is preferred.
  • One to two years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist, consistently exceeding performance benchmarks.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent policy changes and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, results-oriented.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and understand client correspondence.
  • Excellent task management skills, including organization, attention to detail, time management, multitasking, and prioritization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Promote a positive work atmosphere and uphold outstanding business ethics.

Travel and Compliance Requirements

  • Valid Texas driver's license with reliable transportation is required.
  • Driving record must meet CCG's automobile insurance carrier standards.
  • Must possess liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation.
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required.
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided when applicable.
  • Must successfully pass all compliance background checks required for federal funding throughout employment.
