The Position

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our customers, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our energy storage systems and solar inverters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex field engineering assignments for energy storage and solar applications.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning of energy storage systems and solar inverters, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Lead Preventive Maintenance projects, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Perform a range of engineering assignments, including installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of energy storage systems and solar inverters.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting services to customers, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to identify and implement design improvements, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Lead upgrade projects, interacting with customers to explain technical scope and requirements.
  • Work closely with customer EMS/SCADA engineers to set up system communication and parameters.
  • Develop and maintain Field Service procedures, ensuring consistency and quality in our technical support services.
  • Participate in training programs, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and customers.
  • Research alternative components and solutions, ensuring our products remain competitive and innovative.
  • Coordinate with our R&D team in China, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
  • Take the lead on projects, including upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Independently perform a range of field service tasks, communicating with Factory Engineering and Customer's solar plant engineer.
  • Collaborate with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain solar plants.
  • Support repair activities in our Service center, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of customer issues.
  • Prepare, deliver, and submit field reports to customers and management, providing detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of technical proposals, providing comments on technical content and level of effort.
  • Conduct site visits, experimental investigations, and analyze engineering problems, proposing solutions and alternatives, and providing recommendations.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of overall experience in engineering field.
  • 3 years of experience in energy storage systems and 2 years in solar inverters.
  • Ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
  • Customer service, problem-solving skills, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Closely follow instruction and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform job duties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • OSHA, NSPA70A, Electrical Safety.
Education or Desired License and Certificates
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from accredited university or college.
  • Renewable industry experience is required.
  • Power Electronics experience is required.
