Aquaculture Environmental Monitoring and Management Role

You will be part of our team that contributes to Singapore's aquaculture sector's resilience and growth by developing science-based approaches to understanding and managing the environment of aquaculture sites.

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact, not just within the team, but nationally, ensuring the resilience and safety of Singapore's food supply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage projects that support the sustainable expansion and intensification of aquaculture, including environmental monitoring and management of fish farming sites.
  • Collect and interpret aquaculture environmental data.
  • Identify knowledge or technology gaps related to monitoring and management of aquaculture site conditions and develop solutions to address these gaps, including conducting relevant R&D projects.
  • Engage with local and regional counterparts and specialists to address emerging issues related to the environmental sustainability of the aquaculture industry.
  • Perform duties required for the smooth implementation of aquaculture environmental monitoring and management programs.
Requirements:
  • Strong scientific or research background in aquaculture-related fields such as marine and environmental sciences, aquaculture engineering, and digital technologies.
  • Prior experience working in related fields is an advantage.
  • Proficient in computer software applications, good analytical skills, and familiar with statistical methods.
  • Prepared to work on weekends and after office hours when necessary.
  • Able to work in the office and field/offshore environments, including onboard sea-going vessels.
  • Team player with good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
