The primary objective of this role is to deliver diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic podiatric services, which encompass surgical and outpatient procedures for patients at the designated health service unit.
Recruitment or relocation incentives may be available. A minimum one-year service agreement will be required.
- Administers comprehensive podiatric surgical and medical treatment, including preventive care, health maintenance, early diagnosis, wound management, and both minor and major surgical interventions, along with follow-up care.
- Acts as a consultant to fellow healthcare professionals regarding all aspects of podiatric patient management.
- Conducts patient interviews, examinations, reviews medical histories, and requests or performs necessary diagnostic tests and evaluations.
- Maintains accurate clinical documentation and administrative records as mandated.
- Provides counseling and education to patients, families, communities, and staff, focusing on healthcare, particularly in relation to diabetes and the prevention of vascular and podiatric complications.
The selected candidate may be subject to a probationary or trial period.
U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
This position is designated under Public Law, necessitating contact or control over Indian children. Therefore, the agency must ensure that individuals hired for these roles have not been convicted of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to specific offenses.
Immunization for Measles and Rubella is required for selectees born after 1957, and seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory for all personnel working in health service facilities.
COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to commencing duties.
The chosen individual must secure and maintain clinical privileges, including any licensure prerequisites. Failure to obtain or sustain these privileges during employment may result in adverse actions, including termination from Federal service.
On-call hours or standby duty may be necessary.
Successful completion of the E-Verify employment verification check is required.
To qualify for this position, your resume must reflect sufficient experience and/or education to fulfill the duties associated with the specific role.
Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer activities conducted through National Service programs and other organizations. All qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time work, will be credited. You must clearly outline the duties and responsibilities for each position held, along with the total hours worked per week.

If you meet the minimum qualifications for this position, your application will be evaluated and rated under Category Rating selection procedures. Qualified candidates will be categorized as Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified. Within each category, applicants eligible for veteran's preference will receive selection priority over non-preference eligibles.
