Child Life Specialist

The Child Life Specialist plays a vital role in empowering children and their families to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, family-centered care that prioritizes the unique needs of each child.
With a strong foundation in psychosocial and developmental principles, you will assess and support patients and their families, helping them to cope with healthcare experiences and promote continued cognitive and emotional growth.
Through your expertise and compassion, you will enhance the quality of patient care, serving as a resource and advocate on child development issues. By joining our team at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, you will be part of a culture that values patient-focused, whole-person care and mutual respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial and developmental assessments and support to patients and their families
- Develop and implement emotionally and developmentally appropriate care plans
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Serve as a resource and advocate on child development issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Life or a closely related field
- National Certified Child Life Specialist - Association of Child Life Professionals
- 1 year of work experience as a certified Child Life Specialist (preferred)
