Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and optimizations of cathode and anode materials, as well as electrolytes, to achieve research and development goals.
  • Develop and implement efficient electrode coating and infiltration methods that can be scaled for production.
  • Assemble battery cells and perform rigorous testing, ensuring repeatability and comprehensive statistical analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Identify and analyze performance limitations in battery cells through electrochemical assessments and material characterization techniques.
  • Communicate findings, methodologies, and uncertainties effectively through written reports and presentations.
  • Ensure a clean and safe laboratory environment, promoting health and safety standards in daily operations.
  • Design and validate innovative processes and devices for battery technology.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and respond to proposals as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with design, quality assurance, and production teams to transition battery designs from concept to full-scale production.
  • Support additional research and development activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree with over 5 years of experience in lithium-ion research and development or manufacturing.
  • Experience in project management is advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across various teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety among colleagues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently to achieve objectives.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to meet project goals.
