Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise, tact, and courtesy when interacting with patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for examination, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Select and adjust equipment according to examination specifications, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality.
  • Start equipment to produce images of internal organs and record diagnostic data.
  • Monitor sound wave displays to ensure high-quality ultrasonic patterns.
  • Photograph images of organs or remove strip printouts to obtain permanent records.
  • Key test data and patient information into computer systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Orient new hires and perform other related duties as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 2 certifications from the following list: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast, Registered Vascular Technician Certificate, or others.
  • NT certification required for genetic screening at Prenatal Diagnostic Centers.
