Process Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced electrical and controls professional to fill the role of Process Control Engineer at our Hammond, IN location.
About the RoleThe primary responsibility of the Process Control Engineer is the development of control systems, including continuous control loops and sequential batch control algorithms. The successful candidate will design, specify, install, and troubleshoot process control hardware and software from the field device to the operator interface.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop control systems for continuous and batch processes
- Develop, test, and install PLC and control software
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to direct activities regarding instrumentation and electrical systems
- Supervise automation, control, and electrical contractors for various projects
- Coordinate with the Dover, Ohio site IT in the troubleshooting of site PC's and PC network
- B.S. Degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering with substantial electrical training/experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with control systems configured using ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured function
- Familiarity with networking hardware and software to maintain a distributed system of controllers and workstations
- Experience with networked Allen-Bradley PLC's
- Experience in the chemical, plastic, petrochemical, gas/oil, pharmaceuticals, pulp/paper, power/utilities, and/or paint coatings industry
- Advanced knowledge of control for batch and continuous processes
- Cascaded Control Schema's
- Rockwell SLC 500, PLC-5, CompactLogix, Control Logix system design and programming
- Compatible IO Systems
- GE Digital iFIX HMI/SCADA system design and programming
The Process Control Engineer will work in a 24/7 production environment and will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on site premises when necessary.
