Role/Department:
Auditor/Internal Audit (Asset Servicing Business Unit)


Northern Trust is seeking an Auditor to become part of the Asset Servicing International (ASI) audit team. This role involves contributing as a team member in the planning and execution of audit engagements, as well as taking on the responsibilities of an Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) for smaller audits.

The Auditor will actively collaborate with senior members of the Northern Trust Asset Servicing business teams to assist the Audit Manager and/or AIC in executing the ASI audit plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting cross-jurisdictional audit engagements related to ASI activities, such as fund services, security servicing, and client relationship management, while addressing significant risks in detail.
  • Designing and executing testing approaches, ensuring that documentation is clear, concise, and supports the reviews conducted.
  • Providing technical expertise and applying analytical skills to review relevant information.
  • Communicating audit status to stakeholders and management in a timely and clear manner.
  • Compiling findings and recommendations for status updates and audit reports.
  • Following up on audit issues and assisting other staff with validation testing.
  • Contributing to non-audit projects to support the team's growth as needed.
  • Collaborating with team members across various jurisdictions and cultures.
Skills/Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of assurance experience in internal audit, external audit, or related functions within a financial institution or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or interest in financial services.
  • A willingness to adapt to a dynamic global work environment, including flexibility in working hours.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in utilizing data analytics methodologies.
  • Critical thinking abilities to analyze and challenge existing processes.
  • Proven project management skills.
