Job Title: Recreation Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Recreation Aide to support our recreation programs and activities, focusing on athletics and fitness. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse citizen groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and implementing programs, including sports competitions, senior recreation, fitness, and special events.
  • Provide oversight and direction to program participants and volunteers, monitoring events, programs, participants, and spectators.
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, responding to patrons, completing forms, and setting up and breaking down equipment.
  • Maintain facility order and cleanliness.
  • Enforce facility rules and entrance requirements.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working in a customer service setting or with children/youth in a recreation, athletics, fitness, or education setting.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
Work Environment:

Work will be performed at various recreation facilities within Norfolk, with flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events.
