Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to join our team at Green Plains Inc. As a key member of our Plant Management Team, you will be responsible for the overall performance and efficiency of our plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of process technicians to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to review and organize engineering process modifications and projects.
  • Monitor and analyze plant quality and production results, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of budgeted area cost drivers, both fixed and variable, and work to reduce excess consumption and costs.
  • Communicate effectively with the Quality Manager, Logistics Manager, Maintenance Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
  • Generate a daily plan outlining operational goals and objectives, and conduct regular meetings with the maintenance team to ensure timely and accurate maintenance planning.
  • Develop and submit a monthly area report tracking safety, environmental, quality, production, and project activity.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of technical and/or plant experience, with a focus on operations management.
  • Proven track record of leading successful teams and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Broad-based technical skills, with the ability to implement goals and objectives through effective planning and organizing.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Continuous industrial processing experience.
  • Four-year technical degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Agricultural Engineering).
  • Dry Milling, Corn Wet Milling, or related industrial knowledge.
  • Broad industrial and technical knowledge.
  • Experience implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) and related systems.
