About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Service Manager to join our team at NRG Energy. As a key member of our Division Leadership team, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our Service business, working collaboratively with our Retail and RNC teams to ensure that all customer needs are met with the goal of growth and development of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the service team, working in partnership with the Customer Service Manager to improve call center operations
  • In partnership with the Division Retail Manager, create and review service and financial KPIs as needed
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching to ensure optimal performance of the Service team
  • Promptly address performance issues
  • Ensure that all direct reports comply with required safety standards and ensure that team members are safety-conscious at all times
  • Provide regular performance updates to senior management
  • Set work priorities and evaluate workloads and schedules to maximize production
  • Ensure materials and equipment are ordered and distributed for scheduled jobs
  • Ensure all administrative guidelines are followed for timesheets, expenses, reporting, and other operational paperwork
  • Review invoices/paperwork submitted by field personnel daily to ensure all necessary information is recorded neatly and accurately
  • Ensure team promptly completes all required training
  • Assure all work performed in the field and in the office meets the highest quality standards
  • Ensure that all permits are pulled and inspected as local code requires
  • Protect the company's assets; monitor how trucks, tools, and inventory are handled
  • Responsible for effective hiring of all new team members and maintains adequate team staffing
  • Continually search for ways to improve process and operations
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; experience may be substituted for education
  • 10+ HVAC or related experience
  • 5+ years' experience leading a team
  • Computer competency is required, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with ERP, customer service, or related computer software
  • Knowledge or aptitude to understand HVAC systems and processes
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekends hours may occasionally be required
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree
  • HVAC business and/or field experience
